Application

PEPTAPON 205 is a suspension stabilizer which increases the yield-point of glaze slips, thereby counteracting glaze runs which occur on application of vertical surfaces. This product is suitable for hand and spray-robot application.
PEPTAPON 205 is used in combination with products from our PEPTAPON range. The addition rate ranges between 0.05 and 0.3 %, based on the solids content of the glaze slip. The product should be added to the glaze about one hour before the end of the milling time. It is even better to add it to the glaze slurry by means of a high-speed stirrer, the stirring time being about half an hour. After a swelling time of 6 hours, the glaze is ready for use.
Please note that when using PEPTAPON 205 in stock solutions, glazes and/or body slips, anti-bacterial biocide use is strongly recommended. Consequently, the dosage needs to be adapted to the process conditions.
