Application

ZUSOPLAST PS 1 is an organic additive; its pronounced swelling properties make it plasticizing even when added in small quantities.

The use of ZUSOPLAST PS 1 makes it possible to reduce the proportion of clay and to process non-plastic materials.

As a result of swelling with the uptake of mixing water, there is also an improvement in green and dry breaking strengths, in addition to the plasticizing properties.

Depending on the particle size distribution, the amount added varies between 0.5 and 2.5 % of the solids content of the body.

ZUSOPLAST PS 1 is also suitable for use as a binder for dry and semi-dry press bodies. The amount added should not exceed 0.1 to 0.2 %, otherwise there could be elastic recovery. It is also possible to dry bodies that are too moist rapidly and simply, when these amounts are added.
