Application

DOLAPIX EV 4788 is suitable for the deflocculation of various glazes and engobes used in the tableware industry. This dispersing agent allows the production of glaze and engobe slips with a high solids content. The slips are stable in viscosity and show Newtonian flow behavior. This leads to optimum preparation properties for usual application procedures in the tableware industry (dipping, spraying or double disk application).

DOLAPIX EV 4788 should be added at the beginning of the slip preparation either to the mill or dissolver. A later regulation of the slip viscosity at the glazing line is also easily possible. As DOLAPIX EV 4788 is liquid andhence is completely dissociated, it has deflocculating effects immediately after being added to the slip. Furthermore, it can be homogeneously mixed with the slip.

Having different compositions, glazes and engobes react very differently to various dispersing agents. Therefore, it is necessary to run preliminary tests to determine the most effective deflocculant withits optimum dosage. Here, further DOLAPIX- and GIESSFIX-types are available.

For glazes and engobes used in the tableware industry, an addition quantity of 0.05 – 0.3 % of DOLAPIX EV 4788 has proved successful.

Other important preparation properties of the slip, such as for example rheology, drying time, sedimentation, and preservation, are optimized by using others of our glaze additives, such as PEPTAPON, OPTAPIX, STELLMITTEL and PREVENTOL® – types. DOLAPIX EV 4788 is well compatible with all above mentioned glaze additives at any ratio.
