Application

PEPTAPON 5 is a non-foaming, inorganic gelling agent that prevents the separation and hard packing of glazes, engobes and particularly of glazes containing raw materials with a specifically high density.
Glazes containing PEPTAPON 5 can be applied to vertical surfaces without streaking.PEPTAPON 5 improves the bond between glaze and body and prevents beading at the edges.
The optimum addition quantity depends on the individual working conditions and requirements and varies between 0.05 and 0.5%, but is usually 0.1 – 0.3% on dry glaze.
PEPTAPON 5 is either added to the glaze powders during milling, or added as 3% stock solution.
Glazes containing PEPTAPON 5 do not tend to a decrease in viscosity even during prolonged storage.
