Application

PEPTAPON 52 is a non-foaming suspension stabilizer for glazes and frits which tend to separate by settling. PEPTAPON 52 is suitable for the application of sanitary glazes by hand and spray-robot. It improves the bond between body and glaze and provides a touch-resistant finish. Cracking and crawling will not be observed.

Glazes containing PEPTAPON 52 can be applied to vertical surfaces without the risk of streaks or excess lines on the edges.

Additions that ensure a good performance in most cases are between 0.3 and 0.6 % on dry glaze.The product should be added to the glaze about one hour before the end of the milling time. It is even better to add it to the glaze slurry by means of a high-speed stirrer, the stirring time being about half an hour. After a swelling time of 6 hours, the glaze is ready for use.

Please note that when using PEPTAPON 52 in stock solutions, glazes and/or body slips, antibacterial biocide use is strongly recommended. Consequently, the dosage needs to be adapted to the process conditions.
