Application
ZUSOPLAST 9002 is a nonfoaming pressing agent. It acts as a pressure-equalizing agent and can be used for isostatic pressing of spray-dried bodies and also for dry-pressed bodies.
ZUSOPLAST 9002 forms lubricating layers which facilitate the flow of the granulate under pressure, thus leading to homogeneous compaction during the pressing process. Hence, it contributes to a reduction in the structural stresses, which can lead to damage, particularly cracks and spalling, during the technological processes, that follow. The formation of a lubricating layer between the body and the mould wall also reduces the frictional forces occurring there, and thus contributes to a reduction in wear and tear.
When spray-dried body is being processed, ZUSOPLAST 9002 also acts as plasticizer within the individual granules. This means the complete crushing can take place during the pressing process and no granulate structures remain.
The amount added is ca. 0.1 to 0.5 %, for spray-dried bodies, and up to ca. 2.0 %, for dry press bodies, based on the total solids content of the slip or the body respectively.

Core Mechanism and Positioning
This pressing aid and lubricant is a process‑optimizing additive. By forming a foam‑free lubricating film on particle surfaces, it plays two key roles during the ceramic powder pressing process:
- Internal Lubrication: It forms a lubricating layer between particles, reducing internal friction and enabling particles to flow and rearrange more fully under pressure. This results in more uniform densification and eliminates stress concentration points, which are the primary causes of cracking and delamination in green bodies.
- External Lubrication: It forms a lubricating layer between the green body and the mold, significantly reducing demolding resistance. This not only protects the mold surface and reduces wear but also ensures that the edges of the demolded green body remain intact and the surface finish is improved.
Application Value Summary
With its core advantages of foam‑free lubrication + plasticizing and pressing‑aiding, this product delivers the key benefits of crack prevention, improved densification, and stable quality in the dry‑pressing of spray‑granulated green bodies. At the same time, it provides mold protection and consistent forming performance for conventional dry‑pressed bodies.
Its precise process adaptability and clear addition guidelines help powder forming companies reduce production losses and improve batch yield rates. It is particularly suitable for spray granulation‑dry pressing processes in industries with high requirements for green body quality, such as ceramics, electronic powders, and metal powders.
