Application

ZUSOPLAST C 93 is an organic additive which, on account of its high swelling capacity, has a plasticizing effect when added in small quantities.
The use of ZUSOPLAST C 93 makes it possible to process non-plastic oxide ceramic and nonoxide ceramic materials by extrusion.
As a result of swelling with the uptake of mixing water, there is also an improvement of green and dry breaking strengths, in addition to the plasticizing properties.
The dissolution of ZUSOPLAST C 93 is delayed in water of neutral pH, so that it can be dispersed without clumping. Dissolution only begins after a delay of approx. 60 minutes. If the pH is raised into the weakly alkaline region, this dissolution delay is abolished.
Depending on the particle size distribution, the amount added is between 0.5 and 3.0% of the solids content of the body.
Please note that when using ZUSOPLAST C 93 in stock solutions, glazes and/or body slips, antibacterial biocide use is strongly recommended.
