Application

ZUSOPLAST O 59 is used as a lubricating agent for extrusion bodies in order to improve flow properties at the press screw and die, and to reduce friction at the press cylinder.

The effect depends on the production of a lubricating layer between the body and the mould wall. The resulting reduction in friction permits a longer working life for moulds and dies. The plastic properties are also improved in many cases.

Depending on the body composition and the complexity of the pressed or extruded part, ZUSOPLAST O 59 should be added at 0.5 – 5.0 %.

In contrast to conventional separating oils, the precise products of combustion of ZUSOPLAST O 59 can be predicted on account of its defined composition. The product decomposes without residue to CO₂ and H₂O in the oxidizing atmosphere of the kiln.

Hence it pollutes the environment significantly less on account of the low emissions. The contents of pollutants, such as sulphur, benzene, xylene and toluene, are below the detection limits. The odour produced during the production process is considerably less than for conventional separating oils.

ZUSOPLAST O 59 evaporates even at low temperatures. Likewise, it is therefore possible to dry to a uniform residual moisture even at lower temperatures. Hence the drier residence time can be reduced, or the residual moisture lowered, while using the same temperature.
